Air Quality Interactive Computer Program

The Southwest Clean Air Agency (SWCAA) has available two desktop Apple imacs and two touch screen PCs in Kiosks available for loan. Each computer is loaded with an interactive program about air quality. The interactive program was designed as a fun and interesting way to provide information on air pollution. The interactive computer is perfect for classroom use or for a science fair. The interactive computer is available in a table top model or a freestanding kiosk which can be used in a student center or main hallway. The program content should be appropriate for grades 4 through 12.

The program includes information about air pollutants such as carbon monoxide, particulates and ground level ozone (smog). The program also includes information about woodstoves, motor vehicles, asbestos, how to make a difference and a fun "Air Pollution Jeopardy" game. The program is run on a computer supplied by SWCAA.

SWCAA is currently scheduling placement of this program for two to three week intervals through the remainder of the 2007/2008 school year. Classrooms that have used the interactive computer have had a very positive response. Students especially like the Jeopardy game. If you are interested in scheduling this unit for your classroom or media center, please use the appropriate form for classroom use or library use.
